TO YOUR ADVANTAGE

Here's some advice on how improve your chances of getting an interview, make a better impression at the interview, and when the chips are down, be sure you are the one that comes to mind when the choice has to be made on who is the right one for the position.

TOP TEN DO’S and DO NOT’S DURING THE APPLICATION/INTERVIEW PROCESS –

  1. Do NOT take your children to your interview.
  2. Do NOT answer your cell phone while in your prospective employers’ office. It is ALWAYS best to leave it in the car, or silence it.
  3. Do NOT exaggerate about your experience, or talk about your personal life.
  4. Do NOT embellish your reasons for leaving your previous jobs – if you were terminated, say so. Always tell the truth.
  5. Do NOT dress as if you were going to a nightclub, unless, of course, you are interviewing for a job in a nightclub.
  1. DO always arrive on time, but not more than five (5) minutes early.
  2. DO always behave in a friendly yet professional manner.
  3. DO some research on the company before your interview so that you may ask questions that reflect your interest.
  4. DO make a point to introduce yourself to the receptionist in a positive way. (She may be your boss someday)
  5. DO think positive – it reflects through your body language.
